Taylor Scores Gamewinner For Huskies
BLOOMSBURG--Megan Taylor's free-position goal with 5.4 seconds left to play lifted the Bloomsburg University lacrosse team to a 15-14 win over Millersville University Thursday afternoon. The goal by Taylor capped a back and forth game which saw neither team lead by more than two goals. Taylor was interfered with while attempting a shot and was awarded a free position play. Her shot beat Millersville goalie Patty Wesolek and put the Huskies in front. Millersville was not able to get off a shot in the final five seconds giving Bloomsburg the victory. Bloomsburg had tied the score at 14-14 when Sam Alexander scored with 2:39 to play in the game after the Marauders had tied and taken the lead on goals by Anna Marmer and Liz Richmond. The Huskies, 4-7, were led in scoring by Brittany Lucchesi with four goals, while Taylor and Sam Alexander added three each. Liz Richmond led Millersville, 4-7, with four goals. |
